Instrument Display Update, Update
« on: 26 February, 2014, 04:58:14 PM »
Today I took my bike into the main Triumph dealer/repair center in Manchester & had a Tech look at the display which would not scroll display functions with any button press.

After some button pressing & head scratching, he connected the ECU to the Triumph  diagnostic tool &  checked ALL functions on the display which reported back as A-OK. He said there was no problem with the ECU or CanBus and that a component on the display board must be faulty. He also said that there was 3 versions of the display and the wrong one fitted would not talk to the ECU. So bottom line is, if I want it working correctly I need to fork out for a replacement (like hens teeth at the moment) oh well fleabay here we go.

Good luck on ebay. Anything under 300 quid is usually also no good. I came to the conclusion in the end that I could live without working buttons and a low fuel light!

cheers Zeebad, may just try to live with it.

Indy, would a display that has the ABS indicator (mine is non ABS) work? would the light show or not? also is there a way to transfer the milage from one to another??

Cheers

Yes it would work. The light will be on all the time, it goes off after the bike starts moving on a ABS bike. Black piece of electrical tape OR pulling the cluster apart and removing the led will work. Later option would be better.
No way to move the mileage. You get what it comes with.

One other note, 2 button clusters do not keep top speed like the 3 button clusters do.

So THAT is the improvement of the 2-button cluster over the 3-button cluster. :164:
