Just done this with several drives. Found free software that does it reliably, you'll need a cable or caddy to attache the new drive via USB. Let me know if you want me to check what it is next time I'm at my PC.
Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Lots of free ones about, but you usually get cloning software free with a new SSD.

If you update your computer to the '1907' or even the latest '2004' version of Win 10, the native FTDI driver emulation works just fine  :152:

Do however first check that your cable has the FTDI chipset  :187:

well I think that's my first mistake, I got this one:

https://www.amazon.com.mx/gp/product/B081RWW3SQ/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It doesn't say anything about that FTDI chipset. I has the same brand but bluetooth type and it works well with Adroid app :152:, that is why I tried buying the same kind but USB port.

Used TuneEcu since 2009. First with cable and Windows XP netbook. Since 2012 on my Explorer with the "locked" ECU with a EML327 bluetooth OBD2 reader and Android.
Since today with a OBDLink LX Bluetooth OBD2 reader.
Works great and is hackproof, doesn't drain your battery.

Just for fun I did a adaptation and service interval reset   :047:
FYI the pictures are screenshots made with a Samsung Galaxy A8 smartphone linked via BT to the OBDLink LX
