Battery Tenders
« on: 01 April, 2013, 12:29:22 PM »
I'm looking to upgrade my battery charger to a Battery Tender (smart charger) but not sure which one to get. Anyone able to recommend a type/model that will do the job?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I have and can recommend an Optimate 111 ( well I have two, one for an old car) and my mate has a Ctek and that is a good one if not better than mine as its smaller. I bought a cheap float charger for my mother's ride on mower and it's rubbish compared to the above as it doesn't monitor the battery at all just maintains a constant voltage.
I hope this helps.

I just bought an Oxford Oximiser 900. It has a display screen to tell you what it is doing (recovery, bulk charge, maintain) and shows volts & amps. Suitable for 7ah to 30ah if memory serves me. Only downside it it's for indoor use only so no leaving it plugged into your bike outside.

In  the end after much searching & reading reviews I got myself a CTEK MXS 5.
Thanks to everyone for their input.
