Handguard LED's fitted
« on: 17 January, 2013, 02:12:01 PM »
Finally got round to fitting & wiring the LED strips to the Handguards
The ones I chose were the 15 LED bright white off Fleabay for ?6 inc P&P but when I stuck them to the handguards, I didn't like the LED's on the sides so I chopped them down to 9 (3x3) LED's front only. They are very bright in daylight should be even better at night....Job done.

Nice job!
BUT (sorry ;-), I would've drilled a small hole in the handguards to pass the wires through (easy on my Explorer because of their design).

Thought the same thing. When the LED's I ordered show up I'm drilling a tiny hole and will use a tiny rubber grommet. Can't wait for these switchback LED's to show up. Its been a while.  :006:

Same here. Still waiting for mines to arrive...
(though in my case it will be easier since I already have the running lights installed; I'll just have to tap from the flashers)

BTW, another advice: I fitted terminals right behind the handguards in order to be able to dismount them without having to remove all the LED harness (and it will make the swap to switchbacks easier ;-)
