Can't get trip meter into set up mode
« on: 03 August, 2012, 10:19:59 PM »
I have a 2010 with the two button cluster.  To get into the set up mode you are supposed to press the top button to cycle through the trip meters then "Set Up" will come up.  When I press mine it just cycles back and forth between trip 1 and trip 2. Set up never come up.  Seems to me this is not a good thing at all. This indicates the button is working just fine so the problem must be in a chip or firmware.  Any suggestions?  I can't run it down to the shop because the only Triumph dealer in the state is close to 400 mies from me. :187:
Most of my life, I drank beer, rode bikes, and chased women..........the rest of it I just wasted.

I haven't been everywhere, but it's on my list.

Some one with a 2 button should chime in sooner or later.

Mine's a 3 button, so I have no idea how it works.

I had a similar problem by following the instructions on the manual as well.  I concluded by pressing both buttons at the same time, eventually, the setup would appear.  I have not figured out how to access it immediately.  However, once i accessed setup there was no further need to access it again. Good luck!

Question. Are you moving or in gear when trying to access setup?  Won't work in either situation. You only press the top button not both. Check with dealer.
Happily riding my Tiger 800

Hey, I'm maybe kinda dumb, but not that dumb.  Of course it wasn't moving at the time!  I had it parked in the garage with the front wheel in a chock to hold the bike up without using the side or center stand.  And, even though the chock has a lock to ensure the bike can't roll backward, I always leave it in first gear.  OK, maybe I am that dumb.  :138: I just popped it into neutral and there was setup, right where it was supposed to be.  Thanks for pulling my head outta my butt KM! :037:
