Engine Keeps Cutting Out
« on: 15 March, 2012, 05:06:31 PM »
Had the dealer install the Arrow OR tune last weekend as its still in warranty, and at the most inconvenient times the engine just stops. The bike is standard apart from the Mivv low carbon can, any suggestions apart from take it back to them and reinstall the standard tune  :027:

try the cycle adapt thingy by starting the bike and letting it tick over and not touching the throttle. let it switch the fan on and off three times and hopefully that should re set the ECU. Otherwise what is the normal tick over at present?
Which tune did they down load?
did they re balance the throttle bodies?
Have you got and had a go with the tune ecu software? (free if you google it)
Ta
it wasn't me

You may want to have the Dealer download the same tune again, check the throttle bodies for baqlance and reset the TPS. Maybe the first attempt had a glitch. Does the Mivv can have a sound reducer? If it does maybe the leaner Arrow Road tune would be better.
Larger than life and twice as ugly!

Ask the shop to confirm that they did the 'reset adaption' sequence.  This is needed to clean out the learned data from the old tune.

Or find someone near you with tuneecu/cable and do it yourself.

Hi all, sorry for the late reply Ive been without my pc ( still am) so this crappy slow laptop will have to do.
I wont use tune ecu at the moment because Ive got 13 months left on the warranty.
Gosling yes it does have a baffle/noise reducer so you may well be right about the leaner tune,Ransome I had forgotton about the adapt thingy, ie let it tickover for 15 minutes without touching the throttle. If it continues Ill get them to have  a look at it when they replace my REAR SHOCK UNDER WARRANTY (2568 miles) did anyone notice that, when that's sorted Ill start another thread.
