According to MCN when they unveiled the Explorer, they done a Powerpoint pres comparing power outputs of the Explorer against the GS. The guy made a big point that he was showing 3 different graphs.
1 The customer ''issue'' GS.
2 The GS as supplied to the press fleet and particularly the GS that the German mag Motorrad got all of its data from.
3 The Explorer - the same model as in the press fleet and customer models!!!
Obviously a different map in the press bikes.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy!

Apparently BMW "tweaked" the tuning in the press fleet bikes to suit the riding style/preferences of the press.
Hardly a level playing field (some might consider it a form of cheating  :164:).
'08 Tiger Blue (Gone but not forgotten).....replaced with

Well, lets hope Triumph tweak there bikes for the press, especially when comparing with the BMW's,

I bit of nitrous gas hidden under the seat would go down well,  :164:
